If you are looking for something serious, you came to the wrong place. If you don’t like sarcastic humor, you won’t like these posts. If you aren’t in the mood to laugh about infertility, then this isn’t for you. Don’t get me wrong; infertility is not funny. It’s heartbreaking, painful, dream shattering, and challenging. There is nothing funny about spending thousands of dollars to have a “chance” at getting pregnant. There is nothing funny about hiking your legs up in the air and stacking pillows under your derriere after baby-making sex. And there is definitely nothing funny about being pulled over by a State Trooper because you were speeding down the interstate to get your husband’s semen (which is tightly tucked in between your boobs to stay warm) to the nearest doctor’s lab. Nope–not funny at all.
Well, maybe a little.
Because, friend, if you don’t find the humor through the infertility challenges, I believe you will tragically forget what it was like to smile. You will forget how to enjoy the simple pleasures throughout the day, and you will eventually forget what it was like to be happy.
This is why I have created “The Comic Section.” I have learned that we can’t change everything life throws at us, but we can change our attitude. So, go ahead, laugh like a hyena and giggle like a schoolgirl at all the crazy things you are doing, have done, or will do to create a “mini-me.” After all, it’s time to enjoy the journey while on the way to our destination.
