15 Scriptures for Your Two Week Wait

The two-week wait (TWW) can be the hardest 14 days a woman wanting to conceive can endure.  And it’s because in the waiting, in the wondering, and the hoping, our emotions go up and down…and up and then back down.  We can turn into a one-woman circus show as we believe with 100 percent certainty we are pregnant with every twitch, soreness, and feeling of nausea.  Then, return to doubt and fear the next as we wonder if we will ever carry life in our womb.

Therefore, to keep your emotions in check and your mind from going completely crazy (because, let’s face it, it might), I have listed 15 scriptures that I use while waiting for that moment to hopefully see those two glorious pink lines appear. I encourage you to print them out, hang them throughout your home, memorize them and think of them often when you feel your hope is depleting and your faith is dwindling. Also, I encourage you to read His word during this time. His words alone will bring peace to your restless mind and strength to your weary soul.

We wait in hope for the Lord, He is our help and our shield.  ~Psalm 33:20

The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.  ~Exodus 14:14

He places the barren woman in her home as the happy mother of children. ~Psalm 113:9

He will fear no bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:2

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope?  My only hope is in you. Psalm 39:7

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my savior, my God will hear me. Micah 7:7

I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word. Psalm 119:147

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

“For nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:37

“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. Jeremiah 32:17

I am not anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, I present my requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guards my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  Hebrews 11:1

My prayer for you as you wait–

Lord, I lift to you my sweet sister, and I ask that You do the impossible in her situation. I pray that NOW be her time to have life formed in her womb…NOW would be the time for her family to grow…NOW would be the time for her waiting to end and a new beginning to take place…NOW would be her time for You to show Yourself strong in this area of her life…and NOW would be her time for the pain to end and the joy to begin. Please wrap her mind in peace as she waits for her NOW moment. Give her comfort to know that You are always there and working no matter the outcome. And grant her the peace she needs to replace the fears and worries weighing her down. Thank You, Lord, for loving us, being merciful to us, and giving us hope to believe that all things are possible through you and with you. It’s in Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

      1. Praying for you and your husband and I’m so grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ for your faithfulness and your heart to allow God to use this season in your life for others. I will continue to pray for Josiah to come to pass. Thank you guys again for sharing your journey

  2. Thanks so much for this. I am two days into my 2ww and this couldn’t be more timely!

  3. Thank you, we did our 5 day transfer yesterday and he was already hatching! It is so hard to stay positive and get your hopes up after years of let downs. Thank you so much for such positive encouragement.

  4. This was beautifully written, and made me cry. I have always struggled with faith, and more now than ever. This post was a wonderful reminder. Thank you.

  5. These verses came to me at the perfect time. I’m in my two week wait in our 5th cycle of trying. The verses are so encouraging. Thank you for sharing!

    1. So thankful they encouraged you, Stephanie! I am praying right this very second that NOW is your time! I pray that your womb is abundantly blessed and that your waiting time is over. I rebuke any scheme the devil plots against you and pray for Gods blessings to pour down on you! Hugs! Xo

  6. I came to your page today looking for inspiration and guidance as I am in the midst of my 2WW. I’ve been super optimistic these last few days…after all, I’ve done everything the experts have told me to do (lay flat, relax, do acupuncture, eat warm foods but not spicy, no baths, don’t pick up anything >20 lbs., etc). This morning I woke up with a sick feeling in my stomach like my feelings were trying to temper my expectations and I was filled with dread. This week I need prayers for more patience, for peace, for distraction, for grace if this doesn’t happen for us this time around. We would really appreciate your prayers and graciously appreciate the inspiration through your messages of hope and love.

    1. Praying for you sugars! Remember it’s not about your ability, but His ability. Rest in Him and His love for you. Don’t strive and just be still…let Him fight your battles (exodus 14:14) xoxo

  7. Thank you thank you thank you for these words of hope, healing, and comfort. It’s so good to be able to find such firm faith and positivity among women who have been or are in my shoes.

    1. Amanda, I am so thankful you found hope and encouragement in these scriptures! I know that I love them! And they apply for so many things in my life!

  8. Thank you for these. They’re really helping keep me focused! Just one question because I’m curious: What Bible translation are you using?

  9. Thank you so much for these. I just have a 5 day FET transfer yesterday and am so tempted to get online and compare and contrast with other ladies symptoms but then I know this will lead to doubts and worries about the symptoms I’m not having. So, finding this was a super great alternative to getting dragged down by chat forums. Thanks, I’ve written them all out in my prayer book and just wanted to point out that the 9th quote from Psalms is actually from Psalm 119 and not 114. Thank you also for that lovely prayer at the end. I’m going to pray it everyday!

  10. Thank you for these scriptures and thank you for your prayer! He is all we need ❤

  11. I LOVE this!! Great songs to remind our soul during our fertility struggles. God is bigger and He promises our tears are never wasted

  12. Thank you for sharing. I am on day 11 of my 2ww. This came to me at the right time when I was starting to loose faith. I pray daily and appreciate the scriptures. Bless all the women (and men) going through these struggles.

  13. This is just what I needed right now. I’m on day 7 post ovulation and I feel I’m starting to loose my calm and control as my emotions are taking a strong hold on me. I feel like this month will be my month and I’m praying that God helps me not get my hopes too high. I read your prayer with tear filled eyes as I let the words sink in and echo out as my own prayer to God in this time of uncertainty and emotion. God bless you

    1. Turned out that this month WAS my month! The waiting paid off and I’m now 5 weeks pregnant! God really helped me through it.

  16. Elisha, thank you so much for filling my heart with so much hope. I was getting really down yesterday, even while in Church. Sometimes, one cannot help but to be a little anxious. Your prayers for me filled my eyes with tears of joy and hope, making me trust God even more for a “Big Fat Positive” I am 12 days into my tww. Pls hold me up in prayers. As the scriptures says, with God, nothing is impossible. I want God to honor His word in my life and marriage, that “He will make me a joyful mother of children “ in Jesus Name. Amen. The only bleeding I am expecting to see, is “Breakthrough Bleeding” Amen. God bless your heart.
