On Thursday, February 20th, 2014, I received a Facebook message from an amazing blogger friend (Sibyl Sheffey Lilly at Looking for a Break in the Clouds) and this is what she sent me…

The word “soon” should have been enough to get me excited, dance a jig, and start painting a nursery, but it didn’t.  Don’t get me wrong, it did put a smile on my face and gave me that “sparkle” for the day, but over the last several days I have slowly forgotten the word “soon”. Besides, my idea of “soon” is probably not God’s idea of “soon” so why get all “worked up” and start thinking of more perfect times (you can read that post here)?

But last night, another amazing blogger sent me a Facebook message that said this…

Que me falling out of my chair!  Did she just say she hears the word SOON?!  Alright God, you have my attention.  I thought my hope bucket was already overflowing with a joyful and confident expectation of my baby bird coming one day, but this really made it spill right on over!  Such an encouraging word from the Lord!  But just like any normal person, I had to know what “soon” meant in God’s vocabulary. (It’s funny, or not so funny, how we can’t just be happy or satisfied with one sign or word from God, but we are greedy and keep asking for more.  Sigh.)  So in my demand to know more, I had a conversation with God and bluntly asked Him what “soon” meant.  As I waited in my greediness to know more of a specific date or time frame, I kept hearing Him say what any father would probably say to their child…“Go look it up in the dictionary.”  Did God just tell me to go look it up in the dictionary?  Nah!  That’s not very spiritual!  So I waited some more but after hearing it several more times in my heart, I rolled my eyes and looked it up in the dictionary….errr…google…and this is what I found…

So when will my baby bird arrive?  I am believing and having faith that God will fill our nest with the baby bird He has promised me shortly, in the near future, before long, in a little while, in a minute, in a moment, in an instant, in a bit, in the twinkling of an eye, in no time, before you know it, any minute (now) any day (now)…..SOON!

cracked egg coming soon

    • oh girl you are the bestest!!!! I was just going to keep this in my journal but thought…NAH! I need everyone to read it now so that everyone can see more of God’s hand in all of this when it happens 😉 xoxo

  1. Wow, that’s incredible that you heard that from 2 different people! I really hope they’re right and that soon you do get your BFP and rainbow baby. 🙂 Thinking of you!

    • i know right?! I was gonna keep the blue sock moment just in my journal but thought I better put it out there for everyone to see that way when it does happen, everyone can see God’s hand in it all 😉 xoxoxo twiny!

  2. Praise God! He is so good.
This reminds me to keep praying for a dear friend who is taking much longer than she hoped to conceive. God gave me assurance that my prayers for her were answered back in October, but so far I haven’t heard anything about a pregnancy. It gets discouraging waiting (even if you’re not the one ttc!) but He tells us to perservere in prayer. Praise God for praying friends. 🙂 Just to know that others are praying helps to keep the hope alive.

  3. Holy cranberries! This past week I have really been praying, especially for you and Caroline, that your times would be Soon!!! How great to have so many people using and hearing the same word in prayer over you!! I am so excited!!

  4. How exciting! I can’t wait to see how God continues to move in your life. Glory be to HIM! BTW, I love that you were sent to the dictionary, too.

    • I know!! I almost fell out of my chair when I got the second message from my friend. I couldn’t believe it! I’m not sure “how soon” but it’s just one more confirmation that I will be a mommy one day 🙂

  5. WoW! love when we get instant confirmation of God speaking to us! Cannot wait to see how this plays out! So exciting! (Got my post card btw, Thank you so much!)
